New Mexico Sate Capitol, May 3

The National Day of Prayer will be celebrated in the Rotunda of the New Mexico State Capitol (490 Old Santa Fe Trail at Paseo de Peralta) on May 3. Worship begins 11:30 a.m. with the New Mexico State Police Honor Guard posting colors. Students from the Light at Mission Viejo Christian Academy will lead in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by prayer for the Nation. Prayer tents will be featured throughout Santa Fe on the National Day of Prayer. For more information call (505) 363-8529 and visit the National Day of Prayer website.

Chick-fil-A Leadercast

On May 4, Christian Life Fellowship (121 E. Siringo Road) will sponsor the Chick-fil-A Leadercast from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event features world-renowned leaders such as Tim Tebow providing life-changing insights. The event will be simulcast live from Atlanta, GA, into hundreds of communities across the globe.             Bible Clubs Needed in
                Santa Fe Schools   

Follow The Son (After School) Bible Clubs
are an expanding program of weekly Bible studies in New Mexico schools and are very much needed in Santa Fe. 
Follow the Son Bible Clubs will train and provide all the materials for this outreach.  Approach schools now, prior to the end of the school year, in anticipation of starting Clubs in the fall.  For more information call (505) 281-6825 or email salazartj@earthlink.net and visit Follow the Son Bible Club.  Remember, some children may never hear about Jesus without these clubs.

Fruit of Spirit Ministries ((3382 Lopez Lane at Airport Road) will hold a Revival with Evangelist Sheryl Sanford on Sunday, May 6, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday thru Friday, May 7-11, at 7 p.m.  Evangelist Sanford, from Jonesboro, GA, will encourage and bless our community. Fruit of the Spirit (3382 Lopez Lane at Airport Rd.) will host a Men's and Women's Luncheon with Prophetess Shana Chargois from Dallas, TX, on Saturday, May 12 at 12:30 p.m.  Join Fruit of the Spirit for a time of inner healing in an intimate setting. For more information call (505) 629-4210. 

"Dia de Los Niños" Commemoration at Salvation Army, May 7-11
Salvation Army (525 W. Alameda) will commemorate Dia de Los Niños with a week-long special sale at their outlet and provide free hotdog meals for children and their families during the week.  For more information call (505) 988-8054.

Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (417 Agua Fria St. at Guadalupe) will celebrate the "Crowning of Our Lady" May 5 at 2:00 p.m. An outdoor Mass is planned for the coronation of both Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Fatima. The celebration will include dances to Our Lady, mariachis, piñatas for the children and free hotdogs and ice cream for those attending.   

          Santa Fe Prayer Net

Churches, prayer groups and individuals in the Santa Fe Prayer Net pray for one Santa Fe church each week.  Prayer requests obtained from the week's church are sent to participants. If your church or prayer group would like to pray for Santa Fe churches and receive weekly prayer requests, please contact the Center for Christian Community at (505) 438-0437. Mothers will be honored with a special blessing during all Masses at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi.

 

Pentecost Sunday, May 27

Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation during the noon Mass on Pentecost Sunday at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi.

June 3:  Eastern Orthodox Pentecost Celebration
Holy Trinity Orthodox Church (231 E. Cordova Road) will celebrate Pentecost with a picnic and cookout following the 9:30 a.m. Liturgy.  For more information call (505) 983-5826.

          Mission Viejo Academy
 

Mission Viejo Christian Academy (Richards at I-25) is offering a summer program June 4-August 10 for pre-school aged children (3-5-year-olds). There is some scheduling flexibility, since options include full-day, half-day, and 2, 3, or 5 days a week. Looking Ahead to Vacation Bible Schools 

Vacation Bible Schools are a vital part of a child's Christian experience.  We would urge each church and parish to consider providing a Vacation Bible School to their children this summer.  As of April 26 the following have been planned:

Salvation Army is seeking teen and pre-teen applicants for a free Salvation Army summer camp July 24-28 in Heber, AZ.  Ministry Summer Camp focuses on such activities as worshipful dance and sign language. Join Bible Alive Theater

April 30 and May 1

Bible Alive Theater will present "He Called Us Friends: A Story of Mary, Martha and Lazarus" in three live theater performances June 29 at 6 p.m., June 30 at 7 p.m. and July 1 at 2 p.m.
